Christopher Russell is recognized internationally for his conducting, lectures about music, adventurous programming, and teaching a new generation of young conductors.  A devoted advocate of new and unusual repertoire, he specializes in American orchestral music having conducted works by over 50 different American composers from Charles Ives to Elliott Carter to Steve Reich to world premieres.
